Motor brush cap

These motor brush caps are made out of plastic.  They do not need to be tightened excessively.  When this happens they become hard to remove and occasionally break while trying to check the wear on the motor brushes.  It is possible to carefully remove the old one and replace it with a new. 

 

Prevention is best:  tighten ONLY with your fingers - no screwdriver is necessary
