The offset screwdriver is a specialty tool designed to help you remove the screws from the needle plate of your machine. The second photo shows the difference between the thickness of this screwdriver blade and one of the same size from the common hardware store.
The new ergonomic screwdrivers are great!! These are what Nova uses on her workbench. She finds them much easier to use with arthritic hands. The small screwdriver (for bobbin case and gib screws) has a rotating head which also improves its ease of use.
